Take Action: Stop Big Banks Funding Climate Chaos

Banking on Climate Change  report has exposed the world’s biggest banks for directly funding the climate crisis.

Climate change is a global crisis that will affect everyone unless we significantly cut global emissions within the next ten years. In the 5 years since the Paris Agreement, the world’s 60 biggest banks have financed fossil fuels to the tune of $3.8 trillion. Runaway funding for fossil fuel extraction and infrastructure fuels climate chaos and threatens the lives and livelihoods of millions.

Massive corporations

U.S. banks continue to be the single worst grouping of fossil banks, with the top four fossil fuel funders in the world JP Morgan Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America. To address the root causes of climate change, and protect people from the impacts of climate change and pipeline projects, we must stop  from being extracted and burned and keep our forests intact.

Violation of Indigenous Rights

From the Trans Mountain pipeline, to the Coastal GasLink pipeline, to the Keystone XL pipelines –– Indigenous peoples are leading the fights against major fossil fuel projects that would mean decades more of fossil fuel expansion. The roots of the climate crisis and the exploitation of land for natural resources are issues Indigenous peoples have been speaking out against for hundreds of years.

Rainforest Action Network (RAN) is uniquely suited to make enormous changes happen. We need your help to fight for the human rights of all and setting a precedent against these companies that value profit over people and the planet.

This is what Rainforest Action Network aims to address in its campaigns and initiatives. Their mission is to fight for people and planet, committed to doing what is necessary, not only what is considered politically feasible, to preserve rainforests, protect the climate, and uphold human rights.

Our goal is to raise $1,000 for RAN in order to help them meet these goals and their demands for banks to end their support for fossil fuel expansion and respect human rights. Your contribution will make an impact on fighting for people and the planet.

If you would like to learn more about RAN: Rainforest Action Network campaigns for the forests, their inhabitants and the natural systems that sustain life by transforming the global marketplace through education, grassroots organizing and non-violent direct action.
