SaveAMind- Mental Health Project for Active Minds

Donation protected
Want to join us in making a difference for college students at the University of North Texas? We are raising money to benefit the Active Minds chapter on this campus. All money donated will go directly to their chapter to fund the creation of mental health kits.
A fraction of the money raised will go towards the creation of 36 mental health kits that would include: a stress ball, coloring book and crayons, fuzzy socks, an affirmation journal, tissues, bubbles, and a stuffed animal. After funds are allocated towards the kits, 50% of the remaining amount will go to their programming events, 15% will go towards snacks for their meetings, 25% will go towards resources for tabling events such as buttons and pamphlets and the remaining 10% will be donated to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Active Minds is an organization that was founded by Alison Malmon after the passing of her older brother. The purpose behind Active Minds is t empower students to openly speak about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking. With suicide being the second leading cause of death amongst college students and 60% of youth not receiving treatment for mental health disorders, this is an important issue for our community.
They are changing the culture on campuses and in the community by providing information, leadership opportunities and advocacy training to the next generation. Through campus-wide events and national programs. Active Minds aims to remove the stigma that surrounds mental health issues and create a comfortable environment for an open conversation about mental health issues.
