Fight the Stigma, Mental Health Matters

Imposto dedutível
Mental health issues among children and teens have been increasing along with the use of technology in a digital age where it is easily accessible. Counselors are reporting growing numbers of teens presenting with poor social skills, anxiety, ADHD, and even depression. The use of technology, primarily social media, facilitates bullying and exposure to an overload of information that could negatively affect developing children and teens. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to understand mental health issues among children and teens and create a plan for what can be done NOW to avoid negative long-term effects.

The Grant Halliburton Foundation makes it its goal to target that exact social need: educate people about mental health issues among children and teens and help create plans of action to identify and help those suffering with these illnesses. Through programs and presentations that are delivered to students, parents, and those that work with children, The Grant Halliburton Foundation is helping to break down the barrier of stigmas around mental health and create a more educated and action-oriented population that is readily equipped to help those who need it.

The Grant Halliburton Foundation is based in Dallas and serves North Texas communities and the school systems within it. By partnering with mental health research institutions and local health practices, the foundations have developed the Thrive strategy. “Thrive incorporates evidence-based best practices, forming integrated layers of programs targeted to three critical audiences: students, faculty/staff, and parents. Programs are implemented through classroom education, extracurricular activities, peer-based programs, community-wide awareness campaigns, teacher/adult training, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programming.”

Donations to this campaign will go directly to the foundation and help to continue the implementation of impactful and life changing programs such as Thrive. The money donated will help the many young adults and children deal with their mental health better.
