DFW Area Growth Expected to Continue in the Future

(WBAP/KLIF) — Many long-time residents of North Texas can remember a time when Plano, McKinney, and west of Grapevine were considered rural.

Michael Savoie is a Full Clinical Professor of Operations Management at UNT

Now, all three are congested with homes, businesses, and warehouses because growth in the Texas economy continues to lead the nation. University of North Texas Operations and Supply Chain Management Professor Michael Savoie says many North Texans have wondered why so many are moving to DFW.

Jam-packed highways, construction delays, and earth moving dust clouds are a common scene across the Metroplex, as the nation’s hottest economy continues to churn. Savoie believes the business relocations will continue because DFW is a perfect business mecca, which brings an increase in high-paying jobs, a new selection of retail stores and restaurants, and a modern highway system. He says the downside is congested traffic and construction delays…both of which increase commute times.

Savoie says many of the new jobs in the will center around business supply chain management and logistics.
